40 Don’t Worry Darling Cast Members Release Joint Statement Denying On-Set Drama

don't worry darling

40 Crew Members Who Worked On Olivia Wilde’s New Movie don’t worry darling issued a joint statement today, praising Wilde as “an incredible leader and director who was present and involved in every aspect of the production,” and denies that the screaming match reported on set between Wilde and star Florence Pugh never happened.

“There has never been a screaming match between our director and anyone, let alone a member of our cast,” according to the statement, which was signed by people at all levels of the film’s production. including writer-producer Katie Silberman, director of photography. Matthew Libatique and executive producer Alex G. Scott, as well as electricians, lighting designers, makeup artists and many others who worked on the set of the film.

Here is more of the statement, by People:

As a team, we’ve avoided addressing the nonsensical gossip surrounding the film we’re so proud of, but feel the need to correct the anonymous “sources.” quoted in a recent article. Any allegations of unprofessional behavior on the set of don’t worry darling are completely wrong. We’re happy to put our names to this, as real people who worked on the film, and who witnessed and benefited from the safe, collaborative space that Olivia creates as director and leader.

The statement comes just like don’t worry darling arrives in theaters – where it is expected to make around $20 million this weekend – and as everyone involved appears to be making an effort to push back the drama surrounding the film. Pugh herself – who reportedly declined to do official press for the film – posted a statement on Instagram last night speak fondly of his filming experiences, and included a photo of her and Wilde together in character. (Wilde did something similar.)
