All the evidence that Khloé Kardashian and Tristan Thompson were engaged

Khloé Kardashian and Tristan Thompson’s on-going relationship has been rocky over the years, but all we’ve learned in recent months is arguably the worst of it all.

After tons of infidelity scandals, breakups and eventual reunions since they started dating in 2016, Khloé and Tristan – who share a 4-year-old daughter named True – have been given another chance the year latest by rekindling their romance once again.

However, a few months later, news broke that Tristan had not only cheated on Khloé again, but also secretly fathered a child outside of their relationship.

Maralee Nichols, mother of Tristan’s now 9-month-old baby boy Theo, fell pregnant on his 30th birthday in March 2021 – the same night Khloé threw her a lavish birthday party and shared an Instagram post gushing about him.

Tristan denied the child was his when Maralee initially sued him for various child-related expenses in December, but eventually admitted he was the father when a DNA test proved his paternity.

Additionally, Tristan didn’t tell Khloé about the pregnancy until the news broke, leaving her to find out with the “rest of the world” when the legal documents from the court case leaked online. Her raw reaction was documented on her family’s Hulu reality series, The Kardashians.

And as if that weren’t enough, we later learned that Khloé and Tristan had in fact prepared to welcome a surrogate child at that very moment.

Their baby boy was born in July this year, and The Kardashians has since revealed that Tristan was actually encouraging Khloé to pursue surrogacy plans despite knowing Maralee was pregnant.

But just when we thought we’d heard the worst, Khloé made another shocking revelation about their relationship on the latest episode of the Hulu show, airing this week.

While discussing Tristan’s paternity scandal with his sister, Kim, in a scene shot in the early months of this year, Khloé ended up revealing that the NBA player actually had offers to her.

“I mean, the fact that he proposed and you never told us,” Kim tells Khloé as the two discuss how unhealthy the relationship was. A producer then asks Khloé during a confessional, “Tristan proposed to you?” In response, she confirms, “Yeah.

Kim goes on to divulge more about Tristan’s proposal plans in her own confessional. “I’ll never forget that Tristan called me, and he was going to propose to her on Valentine’s Day, which had been about a year since they had any drama. It was so the last Valentine’s Day,” she said.

“And then I called him the next day, and I was like, ‘Hey, I never heard anything from Khloé, oh my God, did you propose? “, she recalled. “And he was like, ‘Oh yeah, I did that in December.'”

Khloé then says she actually turned Tristan down, explaining that she had to make sure she was comfortable and happy in the relationship before accepting a proposal from him.

“I said, ‘I have to make sure it’s a totally different relationship because I want to be proud to say I’m engaged to anybody,'” she recalled. I said, ‘I’m not comfortable accepting this right now, because I’m not thrilled to tell my family.'”

“As hurtful as it was probably for him to hear, it was the truth,” she adds. “I’m never going to accept anything and give anyone false hope. And I told him that.

While Kim’s comments appear to suggest that Tristan proposed in December 2020, sources with inside knowledge told BuzzFeed News that the athlete actually proposed to Khloé in December 2019.

The sources said that although Khloé did not accept Tristan’s proposal in 2019, the couple ended up discussing it again in February 2021, and finally did get engaged.

Insiders added that Khloé and Tristan were engaged until she found out about his paternity scandal in December 2021.

And although Khloé and Tristan never publicly announced the news of their engagement, the couple dropped several hints about their status over the following months.

First, in Season 1 of The Kardashians – which was filmed in the final months of last year – Khloé memorably said marriage was the “end goal” with Tristan after revealing the NBA player discussed the subject not only with her, but his mother, Kris Jenner, several times.

“All Tristan talks to me about sometimes is getting married,” Kris told Khloé as the two were out for lunch in Episode 9. he knows he has lost.”

“Yeah, he talks about it all the time,” Khloé agreed, before expanding in a confessional, “I’m not with Tristan to just float around with Tristan. I mean, marriage is the end goal.

Additionally, in episode 7, Tristan told Khloé that she would “never leave” him as the pair discussed their future as a couple. “Blood on the inside, blood on the outside… We’re family for life,” he said, to which she agreed: “I think either way, we We’re a family, whether you like it or not.”

But arguably the sharpest clue Khloé dropped was the massive diamond ring she started wearing in February 2021 — the same month she and Tristan got engaged.

Rumors that Tristan popped the big question hit an all-time high that month, after Khloé shared several photos rocking the ring on her left finger all over Instagram.

She also continued to post photos with the ring in March, including wearing it to Tristan’s 30th birthday party that month.

And in April, Tristan left an eyebrow-raising comment under a photo she shared that was all about the ring.

Khloé never addressed the floods of Instagram comments about her and Tristan’s relationship status in response to the ring. However, her mother, Kris, has fueled speculation after she made a cryptic remark about the potential engagement during an appearance on Ellen’s Show that same month.

Asked about Khloé’s ring and the ongoing speculation, Kris neither confirmed nor denied that the star was engaged, instead saying, “It’s a good ring. I think she loves jewelry. She likes, you know, the ring!

She then seemingly hijacked things completely, telling host Ellen DeGeneres, “You should ask Khloe [about it].”

Fast forward to the end of the year, and — if all else hadn’t — Tristan’s court battle with Maralee seemingly confirmed that he and Khloé had indeed been engaged.

According to legal documents obtained by multiple outlets, Tristan told Maralee that he and Khloé would be “soon to be married” as he tried to encourage her to have an abortion. He also reportedly referred to the reality TV star as his fiancée and said they plan to go public with the news of their engagement.

“I’m engaged but will be married soon,” he reportedly wrote in messages to Maralee. “I told you that I don’t want and can’t be in the life of a child at all…Why don’t you wait until you find the right person to start a family with…Why would you you a baby with a man who is engaged. You want to keep a mistake.

“Just a warning me and my fiancé are going to publicly announce our marriage,” he added, according to the documents. “Just a warning. We are probably leaving the country in September and living in Europe or the Caribbean. Better live for us and our family away from the bs of America. Tristan has never publicly confirmed whether the posts were legit or not.
