Meghan Markle has praised Prince Harry’s ‘great’ parenting – including his ability to bring their son downstairs in the morning – in the latest episode of her podcast.
The mum-of-two, 41, was discussing her ‘morning rush’ with her son Archie, 3, and daughter Lilibet, 1, on Tuesday’s episode ‘Archetypes’ when her guest Pamela Adlon asked if the red-haired royal, 38, was “a good contributor to children’s time.
“Oh, my husband? Oh, he’s awesome! Markle gushed.
The Duchess of Sussex explained that the prince helps to “get [Archie] downstairs” during their “chaotic” mornings while she cooks for the brood.
“I’m making breakfast for all three of them,” she said. ” It is very important for me. I love doing it.
Markle went on to express her admiration for the “King of the Hill” voice actress, 56, who is a single mother to daughters Gideon, 25, Odessa, 22, and Valentine “Rocky”, 19.
“I bow to you,” she said. “How does anyone do this without a partner to help them…it’s so much work to be a mother when you’re just trying to be a mindful parent, raise good, kind human beings, and keep it that way. doing it solo is the most awesome, admirable thing on the planet.
Markle then gave her listeners a glimpse into her “chaotic” morning routine with her family of four and their three dogs.
“For me, it’s the two monitors on for the kids to hear. Still standing with Lili, get her down. Then half an hour later, Archie is up. Start making his lunch box right before he gets up while I have him, giving him a little nibble. My husband is helping me bring it down,” she began.
The “Suits” alum said how much she enjoyed “preparing breakfast for the three of them,” adding, “It’s very important to me.”
“For me, it’s just the best way to start the morning, and then it’s like feeding all three dogs – because we just got another dog – and then bringing Archie to the school gate. … It feels like a whirlwind,” she continued.
Markle and Harry married in May 2018 at St George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle in the UK. The Sussexes sadly left the Royal Family in January 2020, explaining their decision in a bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey in March 2021.
Despite the tumultuous falling out between the families, Queen Elizabeth II was able to meet her namesake Lilibet in June, three months before her death on September 8. The couple reunited with Harry’s family, including his brother, Prince William, and his sister. -in-law Kate Middleton – for the funeral and mourning period.
