Vanessa Hudgens reacts to ex Austin Butler’s ‘Elvis’ accent

Vanessa Hudgens is ‘crying’ over her ex Austin Butler’s viral Elvis Presley accent.

On Thursday, Ryan Scott shared an Instagram post, which featured a Page Six article about Butler’s viral cadence.

“He went to Lady Gaga school of Oscar campaign acting,” Scott captioned the post, catching Hudgens’ attention.

“Crying,” the “High School Musical” alum wrote in the comments section.

Scott was apparently mocking the Italian accent of the “Just Dance” singer from the 2021 film “House of Gucci,” which many thought had an Eastern European flair.

Hudgens’ reaction was sparked after the ‘Elvis’ actor’s voice coach said his new accent might be here to stay.

“Cry,” she wrote.

“What you saw in that Golden Globes speech is him. It’s genuine, it’s not set up,” Irene Bartlett told ABC Gold Coast after Butler was dragged for always sounded like the king of rock ‘n’ roll during his acceptance speech.

“I’m sorry people say that, you know, he still acts [but] he is actually taken [the voice of Presley] on board.”

Hudgens, 34, and Butler, 31, dated for nearly a decade, during which time the ‘Spring Breakers’ actor suggested his then-boyfriend play Presley onscreen.

“Last December we were driving and listening to Christmas music, and then an Elvis Presley Christmas song came along,” Hudgens said during a 2019 appearance on “Live with Kelly and Ryan.”

“He had just dyed his hair black. He’s a natural blonde, and I was looking at him and he was singing and I was like, ‘Baby, you gotta play Elvis.’ »

Butler recently made headlines after calling Hudgens a “friend” while telling the story during The Hollywood Reporter’s “actor roundtable” earlier this month.

“The month before I heard that Baz [Luhrmann] was shooting the movie, I was going to watch the Christmas lights with a friend, and there was an Elvis Christmas song on the radio and I was singing, and my friend looked at me and said, ‘You have to play Elvis .’ I said, “Oh, that’s so long,” Butler recalled.

“A few weeks later, I was playing the piano,” he continued.

“I never really sang for any of my friends or anything. That same friend was there and I was playing the piano. She said, ‘I’m serious. You gotta figure out how to get the rights to a script. Then my agent called me and said, “So Baz Luhrmann is doing an Elvis movie.”

Butler and Hudgens were first linked on the birthday of sister Ashley Tisdale, another Disney Channel alum, in 2011 and dated until January 2020.

Butler has since moved on with model Kaia Gerber, who was on hand to celebrate with a kiss when he won the 2023 Golden Globe Award for Best Actor for his portrayal of the “Hound Dog” singer.

Hudgens, for her part, has been beloved by MLB star Cole Tucker since 2020.
