Today is the big day! It’s March 27, which means the 94th Academy Awards or as everyone calls them, the Oscars, are just hours away. After months of film festivals and campaign events, as well as a few Omicron delays and another round of campaign events, this year’s nominees are ready to celebrate at the Dolby Theater, assuming that some of the controversies surrounding this year’s show don’t get in the way.

We are ready to bring you everything surrounding this year’s ceremony, so keep on coming back for the latest updates, controversies and news surrounding the biggest award ceremony for movies in the world.

Amy Schumer kicks off with a steamy joke.

Female comedian Amy Schumer kicks off the event with a controversial joke about pay inequality between women and men. Schumer is to host alongside Regina Hall and Wanda Sykes.

The Academy Awards are underway!

The Williams sisters, Venus and Serena kick off the Academy Awards. Beyonce starts with the first number of the evening. ‘Be Alive’, one of the Best Song nominees for the evening.

‘Dune’ is the big winner of the technical awards.

We got two winners of Oscars that won’t be given on the stage. ‘The Eyes of Tammy Faye’ wins Best Makeup and ‘Dune’ wins Best Production Design. Earlier, ‘Dune’ also won Best Sound, Best Original Score and Best Film Editing.

It’s nearly time for the ceremony to begin at Dolby Theatre, almost everybody is at their seat to enjoy the event.

It’s the 60th anniversary of the first Bond ffilm and the 50th anniversary of The Godfatherand those milestones will be honored at the 94th Academy Awards on Sunday.

And even though Lin-Manuel Miranda‘s hit song from the movie Encanto was not nominated, Luis Fonsi and Becky G will join members of the film’s cast during a performance during the ceremony.

13:18 CST: Guests to Wear Blue Ribbons to Show Support Towards Ukrainian Refugees

According to Showbiz411, this year’s Oscar attendees will wear a blue ribbon in support of Ukraine, which is currently being invaded by Russia. According to the report, the blue ribbon will have the words #withrefugees written on it.

Tea 94th Academy Awards will be hosted by Wanda Sykes, Amy Schumer, and Regina Hall. For the first time since 2018, the Oscars will be hosted by an emcee, according to Deadline.
