‘Good Morning America’ co-host Robin Roberts warned fellow members TJ Holmes and Amy Robach about affair rumors swirling on the network years before the couple’s exit, multiple sources tell Page Six exclusively. .
Page Six reported this week that the married co-presenters have called it quits after an alleged months-long affair, but we’re told the pair have been plagued by internal speculation for years – dating back to 2017.
An insider said Roberts “put them both aside and basically said, ‘Stop it’.”
Another source confirmed that Roberts asked them about it because she was also hearing the rumors. The source tells us that Holmes denied it at the time.
A third source confirmed that Holmes was very concerned about the rumors, to the point that he even took the issue to higher levels.
“He was a correspondent at the time and he didn’t want Robin to think that of him. He went to [ABC brass] and preceded it to reject it because it wasn’t true,” they said.
A fourth insider tells us that Holmes went straight to former “GMA” executive producer Michael Corn, because “it was absolutely not true, and it freaked them out. Amy and TJ’s friendship has took a hit when the rumors started.
According to a source, Robach and Holmes were spotted “canoodling” at bars near ABC News in May. She reportedly left her husband, Andrew Shue, in August.
Page Six also reported that Holmes and his wife, Marilee Fiebig, had been separated for four months – but were trying to “work things out” and that she was “blindsided” and “devastated” by the affair.
Robach’s husband for his part deleted photos of her on his social networks following the news.
A source tells us that Robach, Shue, Holmes and Fiebig were all close and would go on double dates.
Despite the backlash, the “GM3” co-hosts didn’t seem to have any remorse when they showed up to work as a couple this week.
“They are not ashamed. They are two consenting adults, who ended up loving each other,” a source told Page Six.
