The “bubbas” have been through it all.
Katie Maloney exclusively told Page Six that her marriage with husband Tom Schwartz was “not perfect” in January, months before rumors of a breakup began circulating online.
“Obviously, we are not perfect. We fight a lot. We don’t try to hide our flaws,” said the “Vanderpump Rules” star, whose ups and downs with Schwartz have been heavily documented throughout the Bravo series.
“We don’t try to hide that we have issues and lie and try to maintain this perfect front,” she continued, adding that the couple’s commitment to sharing the good, the bad and the ugly of their home life has been “really helpful “in maintaining their longevity as a couple.
After dating for nearly a decade, Maloney, 35, and Schwartz, 39, officially tied the knot in 2019 — two years after a wedding ceremony that was not legally binding aired on “Pump Rules.”
“When people try to act like they have a perfect relationship, that’s when things can kind of fall apart because it can be exhausting to keep that up,” the “You’re Gonna Love Me” podcast host elaborated during her chat with Page Six .
“Because we do put it all out there and we’re not ashamed of it … we’re living the truth.”
However, it remains uncertain if Maloney’s decision to ditch her wedding ring in recent days is a reflection of her current relationship status with Schwartz.
Social media reads up with speculation of a split over the weekend after Maloney posted a sparkler-free photo with bestie and former Bravo co-star Stassi Schroeder.
“I hope Tom and Katie aren’t getting divorced because I adore them together,” one fan tweeted in response.
Another individual expressed concern for Schwartz, claiming he would suffer without Maloney by his side.
“Listen I’m not a fan of Katie. And I don’t agree with a lot of her positions,” the person wrote“but Tom is gonna be lost without her.”
Meanwhile, a portion of fans believe that Maloney and Schwartz could be reaching for a storyline for a potential new season of “Pump Rules.”
“Yep. They’re working with the cast to fish for another season, and this is the offering,” a follower of Maloney’s wrote in an Instagram comment. “A VPR almost divorced.”
Despite the recent chatter, Maloney told Page Six in January that her union with Schwartz is immune to the opinions of others.
“We don’t really let opinions of what people think about our relationship or our marriage get in the way because we know what goes on every day between us and that’s what’s most important,” she explained at the time.
“We take inventory and stock over here. We know what we have and what’s going on.”
The pair attended the birthday party of TV writer and producer Phoebe Fisher over the weekend at Schwartz’s West Hollywood bar, TomTom. Though both Bravolebrities showed up, they seemingly enjoyed the celebrations separately as they weren’t photographed together.
Maloney’s left hand wasn’t visible in any photos shared on Fisher’s Instagram account, but one snap showed Schwartz sporting his wedding band.
Reps for Maloney and Schwartz have not responded to Page Six’s requests for comment.
