Adam Scott reveals ‘traumatic’ interaction he had with Boy Meets World co-star

It took 29 years, but Adam Scott finally got closure on an awkward moment after finishing season two of boy meets the world In 1994.

Talking with former co-stars Rider Strong, Will Friedle and Danielle Fishel about the Pod meets the worldScott – who played Griffin ‘Griff’ Hawkins – recalled a “horrifying” on-set interaction that has bothered him for nearly three decades.

Scott detailed the events that led to him being seemingly snubbed by Strong, who played Shawn Hunter, when he went for a congratulatory hug after shooting the final scene.

Scott said he was backstage to watch the season two finale filmed with Blake Soper and Ethan Suplee, who played Griff’s supporters.

“I don’t know if you remember that, Rider, but literally it’s been pulling me for 29 years,” Scott, 49, told the three hosts.

He continued, “I was with (co-stars) Blake (Soper) and Ethan (Suplee). Rider, you were there with another group of people, but we all came together knowing that the last scene was on the point to end.

The Northern California native said that once the scene was over, the cast and crew erupted in joy.

“Blake and Ethan clap their hands and kiss, they come up to me and clap their arms and just clap their hands,” he explains, adding, “Then Blake and Ethan walk up to you, Rider, and give you a high five and give you a hug”. and after they do that, I’m like, “Hey, congratulations, mate,” and I give you a high five and I give you a big hug.

But just as the celebration was gathering momentum, Scott approached Strong for what he thought was a friendly hug.

“And while I’m doing that, you push me away and give me that look like, ‘Wait a second, who are you (expletive)? And then you run away,” he adds. “I just remember saying ‘oh no no no no! I’m sorry! What just happened? No no no.

All three hosts seemed taken aback by the story, prompting Strong to reveal he had no recollection of the incident, adding that he was “usually a hug”.

‘Are you serious?! Why should I do this?!’ he asked, before saying he couldn’t remember the moment at all.

“I’m so glad you don’t remember that,” Scott replied. “Because to some extent that means it wasn’t a traumatic experience for you.”

Later in the podcast, the story came up again, for which Scott confessed that he may have been exaggerated in his mind over the years.

“It could also have been built up and dramatized over the last 29 years, who knows? But I can see it, I remember it so well, it’s so crazy,’ Scott said of the memory.

The coming-of-age sitcom had seven seasons on ABC from September 1993 to May 2000.

The series focused on Cory Matthews (played by Ben Savage) and his friends and family as he progresses from childhood to adulthood.

The cast also included the likes of William Daniels, Betsy Randle, Lee Norris, Lily Nicksay, William Russ, Danielle Fishel, Anthony Tyler Quinn, Alex Désert, Matthew Lawrence, Trina McGee-Davis, and Trina McGee-Davis, among others.
