His sister, Christine Brown, officially bid farewell in the latest mid-season teaser.
The TV personality, 50, announced her separation in November 2021 from her husband, Kody Brown, to whom she was spiritually married in 1994.
The special trailer obtained by People showed glimpses of the reality star’s effect of leaving the family, as well as ups and downs with Kody’s other sister wives, such as an emotional row with Janelle Brown. .

At the start of the exclusive look for what’s to come in the hit show’s 17th season, Christine could be seen preparing for her big move to Utah.
“I’m leaving in a week,” the star said in the clip, adding, “I just hope they don’t hate me.”
In the next scene, Meri Brown, another sister wife, sat on the couch and said indifferently, “Congratulations, you’re leaving the family,” in reference to Christine leaving. “Like, I don’t know what I’m supposed to say to that.”
Kody was then seen moved by her departure, and while the two were outside he shouted, “You’re running away, rather than being in charge!”

‘You’re like, ‘I’m divorced. I leave. I’m done with you, Kody continued before leaving. Sister wife Janelle Brown then gave Christine a warm hug to show her support.
A scene from Christine’s final moments was then depicted in the teaser, showing the metaphorical division of the wives’ position on her decision to leave.
On one side, Christine and Janelle stood closely with their children while Robyn Brown and Kody stayed on the other side with their children.
As rain loomed in the distance, Kody said, arms crossed, “I’m leaving in five minutes,” before walking away.
“I never want to see Christine again,” he said flatly during part of an interview.

The remaining trailer clip showed the effect Christine’s departure had on the sister wives and Kody. ‘I feel betrayed. I can’t imagine how Kody feels,” Meri explained.
Robyn then gave her own take on the situation, adding, “He still has marriages with us and he still has to fix them or he’s going to ruin them all.”
Janelle also seemed to have issues with her marriage to Kody, with him telling her, “You and I acted like we weren’t a married couple for most of our marriage.”
The two were spiritually married in 1993, however, Janelle seemed to have doubts if she wanted to stay in the marriage. “If he can’t handle my independence, I don’t know if it works for me anymore.”

As the trailer ended, Robyn was seen in a hospital after being diagnosed with Covid, and Janelle angrily walking away from Kody after another heated argument.
“It’s a really bad idea for you to go on this one,” he shouted at her as the teaser abruptly ended.
The 17th season officially began airing last month in September, but People’s mid-season trailer showed fans that more drama was yet to come.
Following her departure from Kody and the Sister Wives family, which was actually filmed in 2021, Christine gave an update on her life to Us Weekly.

“I had no idea life could be so simple and easy. And so, I like the simplicity of life,’ the star said.
Christine concluded that if she had left Kody “sooner”, then, “I might have done it for the wrong reasons”.
“When I decided to leave, I just looked at the next 10 years of my life and I was like, you know what, no, I’m not going to repeat what I’ve done for the last 10 years.”
