Meghan Markle echoed Kate’s Boston look as she and Harry attended the 2022 Robert F Kennedy Human Rights Ripple of Hope Award Gala in New York City on Tuesday evening.

According vogue, Meghan Markle chose a custom off-the-shoulder white dress by Nicolas Ghesquière for Louis Vuitton.

The fashion magazine claims this is the first time Meghan has worn the French brand to a high-profile public event. Meghan also wore an aquamarine ring from Princess Diana’s personal collection, which she also wore on her wedding day.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who traveled by private jet from their home in California, were seen arriving in the city on Monday ahead of the awards ceremony.

They were honored at the Manhattan gala alongside Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and the late NBA star Bill Russell for their work “to protect and advance fairness, justice and human rights.”

The royal couple’s trip comes days before the first installment of their highly anticipated Netflix documentary Harry and Meghan will be released, with the first three episodes slated for release on Thursday, December 8. Three additional episodes will be released on Thursday, December 15.

Meghan, who previously starred in Combinations, also noted that it was “interesting” to work on the documentary as Prince Harry has “never worked in this industry before”.

“It’s interesting. My husband has never worked in this industry before. For me, having worked on Suits, it’s so amazing to be surrounded by so much creative energy and to see how people work together and share their own insights. It was really fun,” she told the outlet.

To share their side, the Duke and Duchess worked with director Liz Garbus.

Of the collaboration, Meghan Markle previously told Variety that it was “nice to be able to entrust our story to someone”.

“It’s nice to be able to trust our story to someone – a seasoned director whose work I’ve admired for a long time – even if that means it might not be the way we would have told it. But that’s not why we’re saying it,” Meghan said. “We’re giving our story to someone else, and that means it’s going through its lens.”

While some criticized the couple’s decision to share their story so publicly, others revealed they were eagerly awaiting more from the Duke and Duchess’ side.

“Everyone has the right to tell their own story and set the record straight. So I can’t wait to see Meghan and Harry do the same,” one person tweeted.

Another said: “I can’t wait to support Harry and Meghan. I’m going to clap and watch!

The use of the images and clips was meant to highlight the couple’s points about their time as senior royals, with Prince Harry claiming in the trailer that Meghan was caught up in a “feeding frenzy”.

“There’s a family hierarchy,” he says in the trailer that aired Dec. 5, before adding, “You know, there’s leaks, but there’s also story plantings.”

“The pain and suffering of women marrying into this institution, this feeding frenzy.”

Alec Baldwin praises Harry and Meghan for handling press attention

“I was kind of shocked that they came here and did that,” the actor said on the blue carpet at the Ripple of Hope gala.
