Netflix Tudum 2022: The biggest news and trailers

For a second year in a row, Netflix hosted a live event called Tudum to show off some of its biggest movies, TV shows, and now upcoming games. (While the names are the same, this Tudum has nothing to do with the struggling fansite also run by Netflix.) There were a few notable absences from the 2022 edition – I’m still waiting to hear or see something about season 2 of Esoteric – but there were also a lot of big names. This includes news on two different Witcher shows, trailers for Enola Holmes and Knives outand the surprise launch of an excellent indie game.

If you missed the show, here are the biggest reveals.

A behind-the-scenes look at Guillermo del Toro Pinocchio

We already knew that del Toro’s view of Pinocchio – not to be confused with Disney’s live-action movie – was going to be gorgeous, thanks to early trailers. But Netflix’s latest clip gives a brief look at how the stop-motion fantasy world has come to life. The film begins airing on December 9.

Jennifer Lopez is an assassin in The mother

There’s not much else to say about The mother other than Jennifer Lopez looks incredibly cool as an assassin coming out of hiding to save a girl she was forced to abandon. That premise alone is enough to get me listening when the movie begins airing in May 2023.
