Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton may be lovebirds in real life, but there’s no room for weak points in “The Voice.”
Shelton wished his wife Stefani a happy birthday Monday with sweet tributes on social media, but the heat was on when they both turned around for 18-year-old singer Kique. The Miami native wowed the coaches in the fifth round of blind auditions on Monday, delivering a moving rendition of Sean Kingston’s reggae-pop hit “Beautiful Girls.”
“Your voice type is one of my favorite voice types,” Stefani said. “It’s so theatrical and creative.”
Coaches Camila Cabello and John Legend helped plead Stefani’s case, with Cabello telling Kique that he and Stefani “would make a great team”.
“Sean Kingston, isn’t he Jamaican? And Gwen Stefani became very famous singing ska,” Legend said, adding that Stefani was also “in a multi-platinum band called No Doubt.”
Despite Shelton’s attempt to bond with Kique over their shared love of pizza, his passion for straw didn’t stop the singer from choosing Stefani as his coach.
“Every time Gwen is here, Blake loses a bit of her edge,” Legend said. “She makes him behave, and he loses a bit.”
Here’s what else happened during Monday’s episode.

Camila Cabello and John Legend fight in the spotlight for a country duo
Sister duo The Marilynds earned chair laps from Legend and Cabello with their warm harmonies and emotional cover of Lady A’s “What If I Never Get Over You.”
Cabello was quick to use her experience as a former member of girl group Fifth Harmony to her advantage.
“I was in a girl group for almost six years of my life,” Cabello said. “I know harmony and arrangement like the back of my hand.”
But Legend has also made sure to establish its musical expertise. “I was also singing with my siblings,” he said. “I’ve been arranging for bands, choirs, and bands since I was a kid, and I love hearing two voices that are in sync.”
Determined to have the last laugh, Cabello used the spotlight button, illuminating her part of the stage while leaving the other coaches in the dark.
“I wasn’t going to come here, but you made me push the button, John,” Cabello said. “I have no doubt in my mind that I would be a great coach for you.”

However, Legend didn’t take the sneaky move to sit down, rising from her chair to stand in front of Cabello as she made her follow-up pitch. “If we put spotlights here, I’m just going to stay there,” he said.
In the end, Cabello’s spotlight wasn’t enough to eclipse Legend, as The Marilynds opted to join Team Legend.
“I rarely have groups on my team,” Legend said. “And despite all of Camila’s shenanigans, they chose Team Legend.”

Gwen Stefani Says She Scored Season Winner With Teenage Jazz Singer
Marital claws came out when Kansas teenager Daysia took the stage. The 17-year-old singer wowed Stefani and Shelton with her precocious jazzy tone and tender rendition of Patsy Cline’s “Crazy.”
“I just thought you had an amazing voice and looked like a star standing there,” Shelton said. “I’m a little nervous right now because I don’t think my wife is going to backfire on this one, but I’m going to fight.”
Stefani was ready to fight with her husband and remind Daysia of her coaching credibility.
“I like the quality of your voice. You can do all the shopping, but you also just want to tell a story and speak from your heart,” Stefani said. “I’m not going to help my husband. … He’s been here for a long time, he has a lot of experience, but I have a lot of experience outside of the show.
Daysia was eventually influenced by Ms. Shelton, with the singer choosing to join Team Gwen.
“It’s my dream season,” Stefani said. “I just got the winner of ‘The Voice.’ ”

Blake Shelton Gets Four-Chair Singer Body By Begging, “I Want You On My Team”
Californian musician Bodie captivated coaches with his unique fashion sense and clean cover of The Fray’s “You Found Me,” earning the 29-year-old a four-chair turn.
“I love your voice. Everyone will remember you: the way you look, the way you sound,” Shelton said. “You have what it takes to reach the final.”
Cabello couldn’t help but laugh at “abuelo” Shelton’s eagerness to convince Bodie to join his team.
“Blake is having a very, very bad streak this season,” Cabello said. “So I’m really curious to hear the thirst and desperation that emanates from him.”

And indeed, Shelton wasn’t afraid to wear his desperation on his sleeve, pleading with bodie after making his initial pitch.
“I want you on my team,” Shelton said. “Let’s win this show together, Bodie. Go please.
It turns out Shelton’s begging did the trick, as Bodie opted to join Team Blake.
“Everyone wanted a body, and I got it,” Shelton said. “I can even beat Gwen without using tricks.”
