Those who’ve praised the film since its initial release and those who’ve joined the original film’s cult following over the years have been widely excited by the news of Reeves finally getting the sequel he’s longed for. Others, however, expressed disappointment and confusion at Constantine 2believing that it’s been too long since the original film’s release and citing its mixed initial reception as questionable, particularly following the bat girl the cancellation of the film.
