Gotham Awards Nominations: Full List

This year’s Gotham Awards will take place on November 28 at Cipriani Wall Street in New York City.

‘Pose’ star Angelica Ross and Gotham Film & Media Institute executive director Jeffrey Sharp announced the nominations live for VarietyTuesday’s YouTube channel at 9 a.m. PT.

“Tár” leads the pack with five nominations, including three acting nominations, and nods for Best Feature and Best Screenplay. Next up with three nominations are “Everything, Everywhere, All at Once”, “Aftersun” and “The Inspection”.

Adam Sandler will receive a tribute to an artist at this year’s ceremony, celebrating the titular 56-year acting career in addition to his illustrious filmography. While Sandler became known for his stints on ‘Saturday Night Live’ and comedies like ‘Billy Madison’, ‘Happy Gilmore’ and ‘The Waterboy’, his later career was shaped by my roles on the show. The Gotham Awards have given the actor a nod in recent years, with Best Actor nominations for “The Meyerowitz Stories (New and Selected)” in 2017 and “Uncut Gems” in 2019.

In addition to Sandler, it was announced that actress Michelle Williams, star of Steven Spielberg’s upcoming semi-autobiographical film “The Fabelmans,” will also receive a Gotham Awards tribute. Williams has garnered critical acclaim in recent years, earning a Best Supporting Actress nomination for her role as Randi Chandler in director Kenneth Lonergan’s emotional drama “Manchester by the Sea.” Variety confirmed in September that Williams would campaign in the lead actress category at the 2023 Oscars for her role in Spielberg’s latest film.
