The top 8 contestants from “The Voice” left it all on stage, earning praise from coaches John Legend, Camila Cabello, Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani.
But in the case of Team Legend’s Omar Jose Cardona, singing can sometimes be so good it encourages playful roasting instead of compliments.
“I’m pretty sure he was lip-syncing on that one,” Stefani joked, after Cardona nearly blew the studio roof off with her belt high to Celine Dion’s “My Heart Will Go On.”
“There’s no way it’s real. We’re moved with laughter because we can’t take it seriously that you can sing so well.”
Stefani’s husband and fellow coach, Shelton, agreed.
“All over America right now, old men are getting up from their chairs and picking up their hairpieces,” he said.
The legend said Cardona could do it all: “I feel like as a coach I just try to imagine what challenge I can throw at Omar, because Omar can do it.”
Here’s who else raised the bar in the semi-finals.
Camila Cabello aka Morgan Myles is “The Voice” after a heartbreaking tribute
There wasn’t a dry eye in the house at the end of the episode, which ended with a stunning performance from Team Camila’s Morgan Myles. The 35-year-old country crooner wept as she sang an elegant cover of Lady Gaga’s “Always Remember Us This Way” dedicated to her cousin who died of brain cancer at 33.
‘The Voice’: Camila Cabello flies Team Blake singer – with a marriage proposal?!
“When you were up there earlier, there was just something so magical about it,” Cabello said. “This show is called ‘The Voice’, and I feel like you are it somehow. Your voice has truth and courage.”
Myles left Stefani speechless.
“It’s hard to find words,” she said. “There’s just something that’s been honed in a certain way.”
Blake Shelton Gives Bodie the ‘Good Guy’ Seal of Approval
Shelton coached contestants on “The Voice” for a long time – and he says he knows a good guy when he sees one.
He says his team’s body fits that bill.
“Man, I think you’re going to the final,” Shelton said after the 29-year-old’s energetic cover of Halsey’s “Without Me.” “We all know you have this absurd amount of talent and this knowledge of music and what you want to do and how you want to put it together, but I want America to know what’s in the heart of this guy, and he’s a good guy standing up there.”

Team Singer John Legend Has All The Coaches Wanting To Attend Her Concert
Is it “The Voice” or a Kim Cruse concert?
That’s the question the 30-year-old Team Legend constant left coaches asking, after his soaring rendition of the jazz standard “Summertime” from George Gershwin’s opera “Porgy and Bess.”
“I absolutely want to go to a Kim Cruse concert,” Cabello said. “The nation loves you. You are magic.”
The caption agreed, saying he wanted to “go to a Kim Cruse concert too.”
“Divine is the word that came to mind,” he said. “It was just a masterclass on how you perform a song that’s been performed a million times.”

Shelton also appreciated its straightforward directing.
“For the first time in over a decade, I’ve seen choreography on stage that I can actually do,” he joked. “Finally. I could have been one of the dancers tonight.”
