Jessica Simpson did not share everything in his successful memoir open book. In new news for Amazon Original Stories, the singer detailed a secret romance she had with a “big movie star” years ago. The entertainer reveals a lot about their romance — how they met, where they first kissed, and how things ended — but she didn’t reveal the mystery man’s name.

In the aptly titled short story movie star, Simpson said it all started in early September 2001 at the MTV VMAs after-party. She was on a break with boyfriend Nick Lachey and was a hot commodity in the industry.

“I was dodging calls from two boybanders, one from NSync, the other from Backstreet Boys,” she wrote.

Simpson was also dodging some frames of the music at the party when her bodyguard, who was also the star’s trainer, recognized a famous face in the crowd.

“This is Jessica,” the bodyguard said as he introduced her to Movie Star.

“I know,” replied the actor.

“He gave me a different hug – a modified celebrity hug that he held a few seconds longer than I expected. As our mutual friend, my bodyguard, spoke, this megastar, that I grew up thinking she was so sexy, looked me up and down. Like he was stripping me with his eyes,” Simpson wrote.

Movie Star and Simpson engaged in a little chat and she thought, “That’s what it’s like to be hit on.” The singer said that aside from Lachey, “no man had ever been so outspoken in looking at me in such a provocative way. At least I wanted to look at me that way. He placed a hand on my hip and s leaned over so I could hear him better.”

The two soon met at the Los Angeles gym where she got Movie Star’s number – but didn’t call. Simpson finally reconciled with Lachey a few days later, on September 11, 2001. As she documented in open book, the two got married and went through a very public divorce. She found herself very single in 2006.

In the Simpsons short story, she coyly opened up about dodging advances from some pretty famous men after splitting with Lachey. A guy she dubbed RomCom, “a handsome rom-com actor” and “southern aw-shucks,” slipped her a hotel key without saying a word. But according to Simpson, it was “the guys who treated me like wedding material” who were “the most dangerous.”

“Some kind of producer” told Simpson he had a mysterious bachelor to set him up with. “I have someone who’s been after you forever, and you don’t even know it,” the person said. The man “pulled out his Nokia” and ended up connecting Simpson with Movie Star.

Simpson briefly met the mystery actor at the Beverly Hills Hotel as he prepared for an awards show. In one of the bungalows, they kissed for the first time.

“I felt that heat rush all the way through my body, all the way to the tips of my toes in my wedges,” Simpson recalled.

“He texted me throughout the awards show. The event was so important that I felt special that all the beautiful women in Hollywood were there and that he wanted me. In fact , there was another beautiful woman in his life: his girlfriend,” she wrote. “Shortly after, I saw a Movie Star photo on a red carpet with her. I never would have been the other woman in a million years.”

Movie Star convinced Simpson the relationship was “completely” over, but he didn’t want the press to know. The two continued their courtship and hung out together at clubs around Los Angeles, and Movie Star made no secret that they were pursuing the singer.

“While a lot of guys were told by their management teams to avoid me or get sucked into my fame vortex, he was a seasoned veteran in Hollywood, with far greater fame than mine,” teased Simpsons. “He had already achieved levels of success that no one would ever achieve, so there weren’t really people telling him what to do. And I really liked that about him. He was very genuine.”

Another clue as to the actor’s identity: Simpson noted that they “had different religions, but the same respect for God.” Movie Star Apparently Talked To A Spiritual Healer About How He Wanted To Have Sex With The Newly weds Star.

Simpson pointed out that while they were intimate, the two didn’t have sex — but not for lack of trying on Movie Star’s part. He flew her on a private jet to the east coast for a romantic date while he was shooting a movie. As their secret relationship continued, the actress recalled meeting him at a hotel, but was asked to climb the fire escape to reach his room. Later, she realized it was because he wanted to “hide me from his girlfriend” and not from the press.

“There was drama between them, and I wasn’t going to be a part of it anymore. I went through it in a really fun physical and flirtatious way, but now I would be sinning against all the women in the world, and that didn’t matter. I haven’t been. I don’t feel well,” Simpson continued. She didn’t kick Movie Star out of her bedroom, but “we didn’t have sex.” Simpson wanted to end things on his terms.

“He had lied to me, saying I was the only one, but I was being honest with myself. So maybe in the future I didn’t need to feel as anxious as I thought so,” Simpson explained. She left the next day without saying a word to the anonymous actor. “It was the first time I felt truly empowered since I was married, and it was mine alone.”

However, Simpson did not come away empty-handed.

“I needed a trophy for this achievement, so I took the pillowcase he was sleeping on. I didn’t care if it was scary or if he had to pay for it…and it would send the message: it was fun, but now I have a memory of you,” Simpson wrote.

Movie Star called her, but she didn’t pick up.

“Why would you leave me?” he asked on a voicemail. “I can’t believe you got up and left me like this.”

Simpson said “it was the beginning for me to learn to love myself fully”. The actress has also found someone to fully love her. Simpson has been married to NFL player Eric Johnson since 2014. They share three children: Maxwell, 10, Ace, 9, and Birdie, 3.
