President Joe Biden and prominent US officials have condemned the rapper formerly known as Kanye West’s recent remarks after his latest anti-Semitic tirade, Holocaust denial and praise of Adolf Hitler and the Nazis.

“Instead of giving it a platform, our political leaders should expose and reject anti-Semitism wherever it hides,” the president shared on the office’s Twitter account. “Silence is complicity.

Elon Musk suspended the rapper from the platform after Ye shared an image of a swastika in the Star of David. He shared the offensive image Thursday night just hours after professing “I love Hitler” and “I’m a Nazi” while joining far-right conspiracy theorist Alex Jones on his InfoWars programme.

“I did my best,” Musk said. “Despite this, he has again violated our rule against incitement to violence. The account will be suspended.

He also wrote “FAFO” – short for “F*** Around and Find Out”.

But Media Matters’ Matt Gertz tweeted on Thursday that the tweet was taken down amid Mr West, now known as Ye, appearing on conspiracy theorist Alex Jones’ show and praising the late Nazi leader.

“You’re not Hitler, you’re not a Nazi, so you don’t deserve to be demonized,” Mr Jones said. In response, Mr. West congratulated Mr. Hitler. Throughout the interview, Mr. West wore a face covering.
